POSITION DESCRIPTION
The candidate will work under Pipelines, Distribution & Terminals, Capital Program Management Division, which provides, for assigned Division, determination of materials requirements and materials usage analysis. Ensures maintenance/operating materials and supplies are available as needed to support line activities; follows up with Materials Supply Organization to resolve immediate and long-range materials requirements. He or she is responsible in the material procurement and acting as the team leader of the Materials Management Team from the time a preliminary Materials Planning Schedule is developed, through procurement and delivery of material to site. He or she will communicate and liaise with the vendor/manufacturer regarding the PO being placed to them and monitor the status according to the promised estimated time of delivery. Research for materials which can be used as a substitute, for material which is preferred, to get maximum utilization from stock items. Determines the best means to supply critical, emergency and short lead time requirements at minimum cost, analyzing available material, status of material, on order and in transit, cost and advisability of using substitute material, alternate sources or supply and the necessity of payment of premiums for material and/or transportation. Performs in the interest and economy of the organization, other related duties of equivalent or lower level which are essential to complete the job and which are within the capabilities of employee.
